Every year the Länderfördertagung takes place within the framework of the Diagonale. Spokespersons of governmental fundings of all nine Austrian states are meeting up to exchange experiences. Diverse goals and possibilities of governmental fundings at federal and land level in regard to films are going to be discussed. This years topic will deal with the Creative Industries.

Creative Industries comprises following areas besides Film Industries: Music Industries, architecture, literature, Publishing Industries and Print Media, graphics, design, fashion, museums and libraries, advertisement, multimedia, software, games, art market, fine and performing arts. The audio-visual sector, obtaining most of its inputs out of many industries, represents the core area of the Creative Industries.

Creative Industries are seen as a the motor of modern economies. Politico-economic betterment as well as increasing regional and civic attractiveness are important aspects of the Creative Industries.

To point out this development, some regional and national funding instruments have been build up in Austria to enhance innovative ideas and to provide an opportunity to be a part of the marketability. Next to advancing main projects of the Creative Industries, they can also be seen as contact persons for Creative Economy businesses to create an environment for enhancing creativity and innovations and for expanding interactions between Creative Industries and the economy.
